Delta Phi Epsilon has three primary national philanthropies that we hold close to our hearts. Delta Phi Epsilon proudly supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Association for Anorexia and Associated Disorders and the Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation. Throughout the school year, Delta Phi Epsilon hosts multiple events to fundraise money for these causes that make up a large part of what it means to be a DPHIE sister.
Learn more about them here:
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Cystic Fibrosis is a rare genetic lung disorder that affects about 30,000 people in the United States alone. Today, the average life expectancy is age 40. Delta Phi Epsilon is working tirelessly each year to raise money to fund research methods to make that life expectancy number higher. Gamma Beta raises money for the CFF with our annual Deepher Dude pageant held in spring. The pageant includes a series of events such as money wars and other challenges that ultimately leads up to a night where the gentlemen of one Interfraternity council is crowned that years Deepher Dude.
Association for Anorexia and Associated Disorders
Delta Phi Epsilon proudly supports ANAD, an association that supports the individuality of everyone and the beauty of what's inside. Delta Phi Epsilon's motto, esse quam videri meaning "to be rather than to seem to be" coincides largely with the values behind ANAD. The sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon put on an annual lip sync event in the fall that all Greek organizations participate in. All proceeds from the event are donated to ANAD, in efforts to spread awareness for the disease.
DPHiE Educational Foundation
The Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation raises money for scholarships and leadership programs for the dedicated sisters of DPHIE. In the school year, Gamma Beta holds a series of small fundraisers that raise money for these graduate and undergraduate scholarships.
